German &
Allied Cemetary
The German Cemetery near Broadhurst Green, on Cannock
Chase is a memorial to some 5,000 German war dead, where the servicemen's
graves are marked by headstones of belgian granite, set in plots of
heather and tended by gardeners.
The cemetery is a tribute to the spirit of co-operation existing between
the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgraberfürsorge
(German War Graves Commission).
Each year since the memorial was established in 1962,
parties of young Germans, have come to Staffordshire and have worked
